Safe Car
In the UK there’s more than 400 new cars to choose from, so that picking your next family car can be a difficult decision to make.
To make life a little easier, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has put together a list of ten of the safest cars,
based on their Euro NCAP safety rating, for young families.
Euro NCAP is the European new car assessment programme, and their performance assessment tests for car safety
cover four categories: Adult occupant, Child occupant, Pedestrian protection and Safety assist, which evaluates
driver assistance and crash avoidance technologies.
The overall score is then used to produce a star rating with five stars awarded, for the best safety and one star the lowest.
Our selection of family cars all achieved the highest five-star rating.

Electric vehicles have become increasingly popular.
Safest Electric Cars According to the NHTSA
As concerns for the environment and the desire for sustainable transportation continues to grow,
electric vehicles have become increasingly popular.
So with the development of technology and advancements in design, electric cars are now safer than ever.
In the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducts crash tests
on all new vehicles to evaluate their safety performance, including electric cars.
The NHTSA conducts several tests, including front, side, and rollover crash tests,
and assigns an overall safety rating out of 5 stars to each vehicle (in addition to an individual score for each test).
